About Us

At SASK IRISH DANCE, we're more than just a dance school, we're a community. We welcome dancers of all ages and abilities and strive to provide a fun, encouraging atmosphere where everyone can learn, grow, and succeed. Whether you're dancing for recreation, competition, or fitness, our classes help build confidence, discipline, friendships, and a lifelong appreciation for Irish dance.

Sask Irish Dance was founded through the coming together of two proud Irish dance communities: the Blakey School of Irish Dance and River City Irish Dance. Led by owners and instructors Katie Bleakney, Luanne Schlosser, and Nicole Nienaber, Sask Irish Dance combines decades of experience, a shared passion for teaching, and a commitment to providing exceptional Irish dance education from our two studio locations in Saskatoon.

Built on a foundation of tradition, excellence, and community, our studio welcomes dancers of all ages and abilities, from first-time beginners to championship-level competitors and adult dancers. We believe Irish dance is about more than technique and performance. It is about building confidence, creating lifelong friendships, developing resilience, and fostering a sense of belonging.

As a proudly independent, women-owned business, we are honoured to carry forward the legacy of the schools that came before us while embracing a shared vision for the future of Irish dance in Saskatchewan. Together, we strive to create opportunities for every dancer to learn, grow, achieve their goals, and become part of our dance family.
